How Much Caffeine Is In A Latte Vs Coffee
A typical latte comes with 75 to 100 mg of caffeine while a regular brewed coffee comes with 100 mg of caffeine considering both drinks are 8 oz in size. If youre going to drink a bigger latte , then you will get a lot more caffeine than a cup of black coffee.
The caffeine level in your latte or your regular coffee is more or less constant. It is not going to change unless you make changes to your coffee recipes.
For example, some people would prefer a cafe latte with a couple of espresso drinks in it. This doubles the amount of caffeine content and is not a good choice for all people.
Can you increase the caffeine content in your everyday coffee?
Yes, you can.
A classic mistake would be to brew your coffee for a longer period. That wont work and will result in over-extraction which makes your coffee bitter.
If youre looking to increase the caffeine content in your black coffee i.e. make it stronger, then you should increase the amount of ground coffee used.
Using more coffee will result in a stronger cup of joe and will keep you alert for a lot longer.

The Five Spices Used In Chai Tea Latte
Youll use a black tea concentrate in this recipe, but just in case you want to make it from scratch, here are the five spices that make-up chai.
1. Green Cardamom. This floral-scented spice gives a smoky and earthy flavor to the tea. Green cardamom is a must-have for making chai. Do not skip this one out! Get whole pods instead of seeds for better flavor. Crack them before steeping the tea.
2. Cloves. Unlike green cardamom, this one is optional. Its highly recommended, though! Its flavor blends really well with sweet cinnamon and spicy black pepper. Its also super fragrant.
3. Cinnamon Stick. This ones another non-negotiable. Its sweetness counteracts the earthiness of the cardamom and the spiciness of the pepper.
4. Fresh Ginger. Its mild spice is responsible for that soothing sensation you feel on the back of your throat as you drink the tea.
5. Black Peppercorns. It may sound strange adding this to a drink, but its another must-have! It gives the drink that subtle kick of spice that makes it cozy and warm.

I add all these ingredients to a blender and mix well. Pour into a glass full of ice and enjoy!

My coffee journey started like all other basic white girls with frappuccino. White chocolate mocha frappuccino to be exact. In high school Id stop by on the way to school, and roll into school feeling like a boss.
In college my best friend and I would make huge pots of espresso to keep ourselves awake for all nighters, and in the morning I would drive to the local coffee shop and order a dirty chai latte. That became my traditional post all-nighter caffeine treat.
My parents arent a cup-of-coffee in the morning kind of people, so I was on my own to learn about this aspect of adult life. Therefore it took me until college to learn about black coffee, espresso, and what actually makes a good cup of coffee. Eventually my taste refined.
I took a break from the drink after college, because you know sleep is cool. Not to mention, I always felt like making a dirty chai at home was daunting. Eventually my heart drew me back and I did some experimenting and discovered that I could make a French Press Chai Latte! Which makes the art of the dirty chai SO MUCH EASIER.
How To Make Dirty Chai Maple Iced Latte
Once you see how easy it is to make your own tea lattes at home, youll never have to go back to the coffee shop again. Youll save money for sure. But your drinks will also taste just how you like them. Its a win-win.
This tea latte recipe comes together in a saucepan on the stove for the chai tea component and then stirred together with the remaining ingredients. Its full of classic chai spices and black tea.
Whats In A Dirty Chai
A dirty chai has three components and they are chai tea, milk and espresso.
While this drink is simple to make, it brings together an array of flavors.
The chai tea itself is a mixture of black tea infused with warming spices like cinnamon, clove, cardamom and ginger.
The espresso, adds some roastiness to the drink.

Vanilla Chai Tea Latte
A regular chai tea latte, hot or iced, is a combination of chai concentrate and milk.
One customer-favorite drink modification is to order a vanilla chai latte. Your barista creates this latte by incorporating a few pumps of regular vanilla syrup or sugar-free vanilla syrup.
Other simple syrups like cinnamon dolce or gingerbread are equally delicious in a chai latte.
Just keep in mind, additional syrup increases the chai lattes overall sweetness.
How To Make An Iced Latte
Its simple. Add ice.
Okay, its a little more complicated than adding ice but not by much. I suggest brewing the chai tea and the coffee a few hours before wanting an iced latte. But if you are smart youll just always have a jar of chilled chai tea and a jar of cold coffee sitting in the fridge so you can make this iced latte in 5 minutes. If you are smart. And if you arent, youll just have to wait for the tea and coffee to cool down before adding the ice, milk and maple syrup. The milk you use is totally up to you. I find soy worked the best but that is just always my go-to plant-based milk. Oat, almond, and cashew would all work great in this recipe.
But once the tea and coffee are chilly, add ice, milk and maple syrup to a cup, then pour in the tea and coffee. The tea in the recipe below makes enough for 2 lattes, so if you feel like sharing you can. And if not, you have enough for a latte tomorrow.
I find the latte gets perfectly chilled if you have a jar with a lid and you can shake the dirty chai latte. But stirring it works as well if you dont feel like pulling out your mediocre bartender skills.
When its all said and done, the only reason this is an iced latte is that we added ice to it. If you want a hot dirty chai latte, leave the ice out, and keep every warmed and steamed. But for summer, give the iced latte a try.
