How To Make A Chai Tea Latte

How to make a CHAI TEA LATTE
  • To make a chai latte, youll make a quick chai concentrate, in this case, a very strongly brewed 1/4 cup of tea with sugar.
  • Next, foam milk on the stove, either by whisking vigorously or using a milk frother, and then just pour the steamed milk over the chai concentrate. Serve and enjoy!
  • Thats it. Super easy, super quick, super good.

Is Starbucks Chai Tea Latte Healthy

Starbucks chai tea lattes may taste delicious, but they aren’t exactly healthy. The chai tea concentrate used at Starbucks is loaded with sugar. Grande Starbucks chai tea lattes have 240 calories and 42 grams of sugar!

That’s why I prefer to make my own Starbucks chai tea lattes at home using a homemade chai concentrate that has far less sugar.

How To Froth Milk For Any Latte

Youve brewed, spiced, and sweetened your tea, and now you must froth your milk unless youd rather have a classic cup of chai rather than a chai latte. The problem? You dont own an espresso machine or a frothing wand. Luckily there are three clever ways you can froth your milk for lattes.

Whisk it: You can vigorously whisk your milk while heating it on the stovetop, which weve written into the directions below. This method works best with 2% dairy milk and coconut milk.

Blend it: You can also froth the milk with an immersion blender before heating the milk in a saucepan on the stovetop. This method is best for non-dairy milks, like soy or almond milk, but also works with coconut milk, whole milk, or 2%.

Shake it: The other method is to shake the milk in a jar and then heat the milk post-frothing. This method works especially well with whole milk and nut milks.

Make the chai concentrate with black tea bags or black tea leaves . Black tea is strong enough to hold up to the warm, flavorful spices. It also provides a good amount of caffeine, which is nice for a morning pick-me-up.

Green tea and herbal teas arent strong enough to hold up to spices and are not recommended.

I think youll find the flavor and taste of this homemade drink is far superior to anything youll get at coffee houses . Give it a try and tell me what you think!
