What is the ATI;TEAS?
Ventura College Associate Degree Nursing Program applicants are required to take the Test of Essential Academic Skills as part of the admission multi-criteria due to new regulations by the California State Chancellor’s Office. The ATI TEAS measures basic essential skills in the academic content area domains of reading mathematics, science and English and language usage. These entry level skills were deemed important for health science program applicants by a panel of subject matter experts.
The Chancellor of the California Community colleges requires an individual composite score of 62% on ATI TEAS. Scoring 62% or above indicates that you have the academic skills necessary for successful completion of the nursing curriculum. Screening students’ academic skills and requiring remediation for a composite score below 62% coupled with low Reading, Math, Science and English sub scores will increase the likelihood of success in a challenging nursing curriculum.;
Applicants to the Ventura College nursing program are required to take the ATI TEAS prior to October 1 for the September 15 application deadline and prior to April 1 for the March 15 application deadline.
Scores for the TEAS V version will be accepted and counted . Effective for the application period of August 1 to September 15, 2021, TEAS V version will no longer be accepted. Only ATI TEAS will be accepted and counted.

Ati Testing Policy For Csu Channel Islands Nursing Program
- ATI/TEAS exam may be taken twice in a calendar year with at least thirty days between test dates.
- Please create an ATI Account prior to the test date, and save your username and password for test date.
- “Total Score” must be equal to or greater than 58.7% to be considered for admission.
- Note: Most recent TEAS results received will be calculated unless otherwise specified in writing by applicant or if our TEAS policy has been violated.
- If the TEAS policy has been violated we will only accept the first attempt at the exam.
Applicants are required to upload ALL attempts at the TEAS to their NursingCAS application.

Bachelor Of Science In Nursing Teas Policy
Prospective nursing students are limited to two attempts at the TEAS between any two admission deadlines . Only scores from the TEAS taken within one year of the application deadline for which the student is applying will be considered. Within these parameters, students may select the TEAS score report to be included with their application to the undergraduate nursing program. Students will indicate their selection by uploading the appropriate score report into Nursing CAS with their other application material.
If the TEAS score report submitted does not follow this policy, then the NursingCAS application cannot be considered for admission.
Note:;Applicants can now submit their highest total score report. View your TEAS score report to determine the highest total score not your highest scores for each of the four sections of the TEAS. Remember you have limited TEAS attempts per our policy. Applicants cannot mix and match section scores from different attempts. Applicants can only upload one TEAS score report.;Students achieving an individual score of 64 or higher on the ATI TEAS Individual Performance Profile are eligible to submit a NursingCAS application for consideration. You may cancel and reschedule a test appointment without forfeiting your fee if your cancellation notice is received 2 days before the scheduled test date.
