So, at this point, Ive seen White Claw, Bud Light and Truly create their own hard iced tea variety packs to help get themselves on the bandwagon. And, in my experience, the only one doing hard iced tea justice right now is Truly. These refreshing hard iced teas have a bubbly consistency thats similar in nature to your classic seltzer yet slightly toned down, coming in at only 100 calories each. At a 5% ABV, they stay closer to the side of Twisted Tea without all of the sweetness. Some might deem these ever-so-slightly watered down, but the less in-your-face flavor of each tea really allows for a not-so-overwhelming sipping experience, which I find much appreciated.

Long Island Iced Tea Is Based On Molasses Rum And High

The base for Captain Morgan Long Island Iced Tea is a molasses rum made from the brands production. Spirits such as vodka, tequila, and gin are also used and, of course, triple sec liqueur. Every single ingredient that goes into this Captain Morgan is of excellent quality and ensures that you should not underestimate this cocktail.

Classic Long Island Iced Tea

1Fill a highball, collins, or other tall glass with the broken ice or ice cubes. This will be your serving glass. For a super cold drink, put your serving glass in the freezer 1-2 hours before you want to make your cocktail, and when you take it out it will keep your drink extra cold.

2Add ice to a cocktail shaker if available. If you dont have a cocktail shaker, you can improvise one by adding ice to a mason jar and using this to shake the drink.XResearch source Otherwise, you can simply mix the drink with a long spoon in the serving glass.

3Add the spirits and lemon juice to your shaker. Add 0.75 fl oz of light rum, 0.75 fl oz of tequila, 1.5 fl oz of triple sec, 0.75 fl oz of vodka, 0.75 fl oz of gin, and 0.75 fl oz of fresh lemon juice to your shaker. Put the cap on the cocktail shaker or mason jar.

Do not add the cola to the shaker yet. If you shake it with cola inside, it will explode!

4Shake the cocktail shaker vigorously for about 5 seconds. A Long Island iced tea should always be shaken, if possible, in order to incorporate the lemon and sugar.

5Pour the mixture into the serving glass. If using a cocktail shaker, strain the mix through the cocktail strainer to avoid adding the mixer ice to the serving glass. Otherwise, just pour slowly to avoid pouring in the ice.

N: Oh, God. Thats a good question. All of our tools are pretty well-valued. Everyone talks about the jigger, everyone talks about the mixers and the shaker tins and how important they all are. Honestly, the most overvalued ingredient or tool would be the mixing glass. You can still make your cocktails in a cold pint glass or in a tin as well. I dont see the necessity for an $80 mixing glass at a bar when youre going to probably break it and have to buy a new one immediately after that. So I would say thats probably the most overvalued.

What The Blue Long Island Iced Tea Tastes Like

The Blue Long Island Iced Tea doesnt have the cola from the Long Island Iced Tea. Instead, it has blue Curaçao. That means instead of cola flavor, youre getting orange.

That makes this a delicious and very refreshing cocktail. Its all about the orange and lemon flavors. Oh, yes it has lemon juice, too.

When there are equal parts of five liquors in a cocktail, one liquor should not overpower any of the others.
