White Peaks Hard Steeped Tea
The newest hard tea on the market in Canada, White Peaks Hard Steeped Tea is produced in Alberta and actually has two different types of black tea and lemon offerings. One is;made with steeped black tea while the other with cold brewed black tea making it more mellow. We went with the former to be consistent with the other brands.
Its Original With Meyer Lemon variety;was a big hit overall.;It even narrowly edged out the top-ranked hard tea in the flavour category for its “real;iced tea” taste and “lemony brightness”, though some wished for a little more sweetness.
This hard tea has nine grams of sugar per can which is substantially higher than Truly and Freed Earth.
Choice taste tester comment: This one has the perfect lemon flavour. I could drink this all afternoon!
It Has Deals With Nascar
Although it didn’t choose to sponsor Mr.;TeaKO himself , Twisted Tea does have a few deals with other brands and teams under its belt. Namely, NASCAR. In 2021, the brand geared up to sponsor;the 59th annual World Series of Racing at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on October 9th, according to RaceDayCT.;
Additionally, back in 2017, Twisted Tea and racer Ty Dillon, along with;Germain Racing and Richard Childress Racing , entered into a long-term agreement to sponsor the number 13 car, a Chevrolet SS . Twisted Tea served as the sponsor for select races during the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.

Resemblance To Theophilus Carter
It has often been claimed that the Hatter’s character may have been inspired by Theophilus Carter, an eccentric furniture dealer.Carter was supposedly at one time a servitor at Christ Church, one of the University of Oxford‘s colleges. This is not substantiated by university records. He later owned a furniture shop, and became known as the “Mad Hatter” from his habit of standing in the door of his shop wearing a top hat. The man nicknamed Mr. TeaKO for smashing a belligerent, N-word-spewing customer in the face with a can of Twisted Tea opened up about the beatdown, saying he initially tried turning the other cheek.

Hes like, Man, I say ner whenever I want. Leave me alone and pretty much went back into his conversation, Allen said. Im like, Cmon, stop saying the f-ng word. Youre really pissing me off now.’

It Went Viral After A Convenience Store Altercation
Twisted Tea gained more popularity when one particular video went viral in late 2020. In the clip in question, according to VinePair, a man named Barry Allen is seen getting involved in a verbal altercation with an intoxicated man in a Ohio convenience store. The man repeatedly hurled racial slurs at Allen, who is Black, and also threatened Allen’s family members and asked invasive questions.;
The guy made it very clear in the video that he wasn’t going to stop, so Allen took things into his own hands literally. He picked up a 22-ounce can of Twisted Tea and smacked the man right across the face, hard enough to make the can explode. This led to a physical fight, while the video itself led to a variety of memes about Twisted Tea as a weapon of choice. It also garnered some celebrity treatment for Allen, at least on some social media platforms and news sites.;
“I called my wife as soon as I got in the car, and I told her I hit a guy in the face with a can, and she’s like, ‘I know, I’m watching it,'” Allen told the podcast “.”;After the incident, Allen was nicknamed “Mr. TeaKO” by the internet, as well as the Twisted Tea Guy, and has since used his platform to speak out about racism like what he experienced in the original TeaKO incident.

When Elliot Rodger killed six people in Santa Barbara the other night, only two of them were members of the gender he loved to hate. But unlike previous young, male rampagers, whose rage is always fobbed off as mental illness and gun culture, Mr. Rodger left no doubt as to what drove him to kill.
Women are like a plague, he wrote in a 141-page manifesto. They are like animals, completely controlled by their primal, depraved emotions and impulses.
Misogyny in all of its forms, from mild to virulent to deadly, is so subtly thread into society that we do not usually speak of it. Mr. Rodger made it impossible to ignore.
The sickening thing is that he was not alone. He was an active member of a vile website, since taken down, called PUAhate.com. PUA stands for pickup artist, and the hate part comes when women fail to respond to all of the charmsfrom roofies to fail-safe online advice for getting women hot and horny in 10 minutes.
On the PUA website, Mr. Rodger was an incel, which stands for involuntary celibate. But while his fellow incels were content with masturbation and lucid dreaming, he styled himself as an online revolutionaryand now a martyr to their cause.
At 2:48 a.m. on the night of the shootings, at least one other PUAhate.com user called him a hero, according to comments gleaned by Josh Glasstetter of the Southern Poverty Law Center before the site went dark.
According to their son, they never opened the PUAhate link.
