A TEAS Reading passing score is around 75%. Most schools have specific requirements for scores, so be sure to check with your program.

For Reading, the hard part of the TEAS test for many students includes working with long passages, logical conclusions, and the time pressure of this section. To get a passing score on this section, its a good idea to plan for three types of questions.

First, youll have questions that require understanding the overall big picture of a passage. Youll need strategies to find the answer quickly so that you dont get overwhelmed by a giant passage.

Second, youll have questions that focus on specific words or details. Many times, you dont need to read the full passage. Instead, you can use specific strategies for specific question types.

Third, youll have questions that require you to use different sources, charts, and graphs. Memorizing types of primary, secondary, and tertiary sources can help you with these TEAS test Reading questions.

For Ati Teas Science Prep Theres A Bit Of Good News And Bad News

Bad News The TEAS has a TON of science questions that are fair game.

What does this mean? On the TEAS science section, you could see a question about ionic bonds and the periodic table, zygote formation and cell differentiation, endocrine system dysfunctions, acid-base reactions, and specific cells in the epidermis.

Its like taking your chemistry final, your biology final, and your anatomy and physiology final all at once. Yikes!

You could get lost in what you might be tested on the TEAS. Odds are, youll waste time, feel overwhelmed, and start doubting yourself. No thanks.

But theres good news!

Good News The TEAS emphasizes specific scientific concepts.

If you use a TEAS science study guide to help you master these concepts first, you can forget worrying about the rest. In fact, if you focus on whats emphasized, its possible to boost your score quite a bit while reducing the overall number topics you actually need to study!

A prioritized framework for studying for the TEAS Science test means that you can breeze through specific questions, which gives you more time for the harder ones.

So what should you study first? For your TEAS science review, start with Anatomy and Physiology. If you need help picking a body system, start with the cardiovascular system, then tackle the respiratory system. The endocrine and immune systems are some of the most challenging, so you officially have my permission to study these last.

How Is The Teas Test Scored

Questions on the exam are given a wide range of point values that are used in a process known as equating. This scoring system randomly gives more weight to certain questions.

Students have no way of knowing how each question is weighed. So just take the test with the mindset of every question being equal.

Out of the 170 total questions found on the TEAS exam, only 150 of them are scored. 20 random questions are used for internal purposes and have no weight on the score. Students will not know which 20 questions are not scored.

Students receive a grading report that shows the percentage of questions that were answered correctly in each section. Furthermore, this report will also detail areas where the student should invest in further studies.
