How to Study for & Pass the ATI TEAS Exam!! [tips, tricks, resources, advice and my experience]

Students who have to take the TEAS exam should use the following tips to study:

  • Identify the content on the test. Knowing what information is on the test accounts for a great deal of the test takers success. Students can get this information from their respective colleges or universities, and they can find the information on the ATI website at
  • Create a study plan. The plan should consist of the content to study and a timeframe for studying the information. It may be a good idea to use a calendar to create the plan. Students should dedicate a substantial amount of time to studying since this test may determines if they get into nursing school.
  • Create a study group. There is strength in numbers. Having a group of people to study the TEAS exam material may help all group members improve their scores. Only consider group members who are dedicated to making the study group a success.
  • Use a study guide. Out of all of these study tips this one is the most important. A study guide will help you focus on what material you need to study. For instance, the TEAS exam contains math. Practice For The Teas The Best Way

When studying for your TEAS test, you not only want to be committed to setting aside plenty of time, but you also want to be sure that during that time your are actually studying in the most effective way. How can you know if your study time is effective? Well, one of the best ways to check is by taking a free TEAS practice test. TEAS practice tests allow you to gauge how prepared you are for the actual test. Not only will a TEAS sample test help you gauge how prepared you are, but it will also show you exactly which areas are your weakest. After you take a TEAS practice test, ask yourself the following questions:

    • Which TEAS questions did I miss?
    • Were there questions I was unsure of, even though I got them right?
    • Which questions were hard to understand and took the longest?

When you ask yourself these questions it will help expose the areas that you struggle with the most so that you know which areas need more attention during your study time. It may also be helpful for you to pinpoint exactly why you struggled with specific questions. Did you find the material hard to comprehend? Were you unfamiliar with some of the words and their meanings? Should you spend more time practicing a specific type of TEAS question to familiarize yourself and build speed? Really try using these questions to uncover any limitations as you continue to work through the material.

Study Manual For The Test Of Essential Academic Skills

This book used to be an amazing resources for the TEAS exam, but the exam was changed in 2016 so it is now obsolete.

This book was created to prepare you for the TEAS 5 test, and while there is some overlap between the TEAS 6 and the previous exam, it’s best to get a book that focuses on preparing you for the new exam.

However, you can buy this book and use it for preparing for the new exam as long as you realize that you’ll have to use other sources to make sure you’re not missing anything and that you don’t study extraneous information that you don’t need.

The science section in this book is great, and while there was a shift from scientific reasoning to more set-in-stone scientific concepts for the new exam, this book is still not too bad for it.

What Should I Do On The Day Of The Teas Exam

Before you know it, the day youve been preparing for will be here. This is where all of your nights spent studying for the TEAS test will pay off. But there are still a few final things you can do on that day to set you up for success.

Make sure you get a good nights sleep and eat a well-balanced breakfast the morning of your exam. Some of the best foods for your brain include eggs, salmon, green tea and acai berries. Additionally, it is important to stay hydrated and keep your body running smoothly.

If youre unfamiliar with the testing location, take the time to scout out the area ahead of timeyou dont want to find out at the last second if parking space is limited and you now need an extra ten minutes to get settled. Youve got enough on your mind that you dont need minor worries adding unnecessary stress.

Finally, if you take nothing else from these day-of preparations, remember this one: Do not be late! ATI will not let you begin the test after the designated start time. There are also a few things ATI requires that you bring along with you on exam day: a No. 2 pencil, your registration receipt with the ATI testing ID number and a valid photo ID.

How To Study For The Teas Test Prep Courses

While we would never criticize students for taking the initiative and self-studying for the TEAS exam, it may only get you so far. Having to prepare your own study regimen takes a lot of time/effort and youll end up missing valuable information.

Thats why our TEAS prep course is such a powerful tool. It boosts the efficiency of your study time and ensures that youre studying the right content. Theres nothing worse than spending all of your time studying subjects that youre already strong in.

The truth is that no matter how confident you are heading into the TEAS exam, using a prep course is going to help you get a higher score. The only downside of a TEAS prep course is that it costs money so lets take a closer look at that.

    Weighing The Costs

At first glance, the $39 cost of a TEAS prep course might seem like too much but when we dissect it further, its actually a huge value. If you underperform, then you will have to pay an additional fee to retake the TEAS test. At $100 a pop, this expense far outweighs the cost of investing in the prep course.

Remember that its not just important that you pass this test, but you have to score in the top percentile. The truth is that even a slight drop in efficiency that comes with self-studying might be enough to drop you out of that percentile.

Our prep course also comes with a 100% pass guarantee. If you do not pass your exam, you get all of your money back. That is how confident we are in our prep course.

Teas Study Guide Customer Success Stories

This is the only study guide I used, and I got a 92. I recommend using the first practice test as a starting point to determine what you need to study, then spend some time studying before taking the second and third practice tests. I really liked that there were explanations for the correct answers. It worked really well for me and have already recommended it to several others.

So far it’s WAY better than the “official” study guide… which pretty much just tells you “your heart pumps blood… Google it” plus then you gotta spend like 100 dollars on 2 practice tests that you can only take once. Plus you can’t beat the free video reviews.

This product in its entirety really help me get the understanding I needed to achieve my goal in passing the Teas test. I’ve taken the test only once before and wish I had this book then. Thank you for the easy break down of study material and can’t wait to give you the passing results. I’m more confident than I was the first time and feel better prepared. I recommend this book to anyone needing to pass the teas test to get into your nursing program. There are also some good reviews from nursing students on you tube about this study guide. Good luck everyone.
