Visual aids are the most powerful study tool. This includes charts, graphs, and diagrams. Most of us are visual learners so studying with visual aids will make the process much more efficient.

In fact, some people require visuals in order to retain information. Visual aids are an amazing tool for summing up large amounts of information into a small, easily digestible format.;

Learn How To Pass The Teas Reading Section With Strategy

To learn how to pass the TEAS reading test you need to learn time-saving strategies.

Most study guides do not discuss time-saving strategies. In my online TEAS prep course, we cover methods to save time on specific types of questions.

One of the TEAS test reading tips I give my students is to look for TEAS Reading questions where you likely dont have to look at the entire passage. These include

  • Questions that ask you to find the authors opinion or bias
  • Questions that ask you to follow a set of instructions
  • Questions that ask you to define a specific word or phrase

Using these strategies is a skill but so so helpful!

One of my past students said, My Reading section score was crazy! I scored a 90 percent. Im so happy that I found your program. I really feel that it prepared me, especially with that awful Reading section. These tips take practice, but they do work.

One of my best TEAS reading tips to improve your TEAS Reading score is to always read the question first. This is helpful for a few reasons:

  • You can see if theres a time-saving strategy to use quickly, as specific question types can use specific strategies.
  • You can avoid getting confused by purposely confusing extra information.
  • You can quickly determine if the question requires you to read the entire passage or just a section of the passage.

Finally, the TEAS is a standardized test, and standardized tests are designed to make you feel the time pressure.

Register For The Teas

Most likely, youve been asked to take the TEAS as part of your basic admissions requirements for nursing or allied health school. Step 1 of taking the TEAS is registering for your test date, time, and location.

One more thing; before you begin the registration process, contact the school to which you are applying to find out whether you should register for the TEAS through the institution either online or on-campus, online via ATI, or at a PSI testing center.

Ati Teas English And Language Usage Test

While only 16% of the exam contains questions about English and language, it is important for professionals to be able to communicate both in writing and orally. These are the skills that the public sees most often, and nurses are often judged on. A person can possess numerous qualities that make him a competent healthcare provider, but the inability to communicate those skills effectively can cast doubts on their abilities and intelligence.

Conventions of Standard English, such as standard spelling, standard punctuation, and various sentence structures make up nine questions. Another nine assess a students knowledge of language, like using grammar to enhance clarity in writing, distinguishing between formal and informal writing, applying basic knowledge of the writing process, developing well organized paragraphs.

A lot of a nurses typical day contains maintaining patient records and communicating with physicians. Lack of good written communication skills can be life-threatening to the patients they come in contact with, and damage the nurses credibility with patients and doctors alike.

The final six questions deal with vocabulary acquisition. Here, students demonstrate their ability to use context clues and word parts to determine meaning of words and phrases. Medical terms can be difficult to decipher unless you have a strong background in vocabulary and breaking down terms to understand them.
