How Do You Make Peach Tea

Peach Tea Tips And Variations:

How To Make Peach Green Tea!!! SUPER SIMPLE RECIPE!
  • Make it Sugar-Free!: Our peach tea recipe can be adapted to a sugar-free version simply by leaving out the sugar. When you make the peach syrup, just omit the sugar and cook down the peaches in the water. The peaches will still flavor the water, but it wont be sweet from granulated sugar.
  • Change the Flavor: Peach tea is a common flavor in many Southern restaurants, but some other great options are raspberry, passion fruit, hibiscus, and blackberry.
  • Store Bought Syrup: If you dont have time to make the peach syrup, purchase a bottle of premade, peach flavored syrup. Theyre usually available in regular and sugar-free . Add the syrup to taste to the pitcher or to individual glasses.
  • Use Fresh Peaches: Use fresh peaches, in place of frozen. If you can find fresh peaches, grab 2 or 3 for the syrup. Those will taste amazing!
  • Optional: The frozen peach slices in the individual glasses are optional and can be omitted. I love to use them, because they keep the tea cold and are a nice touch, but they arent necessary.

Questions You May Have

Can I make this with just English breakfast tea?

Yup! You can use any black tea you like.

Is there caffeine in this drink?

Yes, theres caffeine in black tea in the Earl Grey and English breakfast tea.

Whats the difference between loose tea, tea sachets, and tea bags?

Loose tea is the best quality, then tea sachets, followed by tea bags, which contain the lowest quality tea. Im using tea sachets in this recipe since its easier to use than loose tea.

I want to use loose tea instead, how much do I use?

Replace the tea sachets with 1 tablespoon of loose English breakfast and 1 ½ teaspoons of Earl Grey.

Iced Tea With Fresh Peach Flavor

I make my lemon iced tea all the time, but I had some peaches to use up before they got too soft and decided to try making my own version of peach iced tea.

Using the fresh peaches turned out to be a lot of work. I pureed them and cooked them down to make a reduction. It took a lot of peaches to get enough flavor, so I scrapped the idea.

I spoke to a friend about it and she swears by using peach nectar instead of fresh peaches. So, to keep things simple, I decided to give it a try. It was absolutely delicious, and it didnt taste unnatural at all.

If you are in the US, this can be found in the juice aisle of your grocery store. You can also get it on .

Peach nectar is sweet so I cut down on the amount of sugar I usually use. If you are unsure, just add the nectar before you add the sugar and taste as you go to achieve the best result for your taste.

For extra peach flavor, I added fresh peaches to tall glasses before serving. This too keeps the peaches from breaking down too much as they sit in the pitcher.

On a hot summer day, this iced tea is a real treat.

Homemade Peach Tea Recipe

We are big fans of the peach tea available from Olive Garden. Several years ago, we set out to make a simple copycat version of that delicious peach flavored iced tea we loved so much.

A big benefit to this peach tea is that it only takes a few minutes to make. Theres no waiting for hot tea to cool down, though we do recommend chilling it in the fridge before serving. After all, iced tea is best served nice and cold!

A simple southern peach iced tea recipe that’s not too sweet and perfectly peachy. It’s so easy to make and very refreshing on hot summer days!

Peach tea is the quintessential taste of summer. Theres no better way to drink peach tea in the summertime than over ice. If life is better with tea, summer is better with peach iced tea!

My family drinks iced tea by the gallon all year round, usually sweetened. But in the summertime, when I start adding fruits to the iced tea, I tend to lessen the sugar a little bit. Fresh fruit is sweet enough.

Do I Have To Blend My Peaches And Water

I prefer the blending method and when I say blending I mean like one-second pulse and thats it. This method will help you save time and will yield the most flavorful peach syrup ever.

But if you want to just boil your peaches, water, and sugar together you can. Make sure to chop your peaches into small chunks then boil the mixture for 15 minutes before letting it cool down fully then straining.

Do The Peaches Need To Be Peeled

How to Make Fresh Peach Iced Tea

No! But if you make the syrup with the skins on the fruit, it will change the color.

The first batch of syrup I made was very pink due to the very red peach skins.

The color is not too noticeable since it is added to a brown tea, but will give a subtle hue of either the pink or peach color based on what color the syrup is.

I have a quick way for how to peel peaches if you want the peach color!

Peach Simple Syrup- This super easy peach syrup recipe consists of frozen peaches, sugar, and water and can be made in just 10 minutes! It also yields enough syrup for several batches of Peach Iced Tea.

Black Tea Bags- I have used both Earl Grey and regular Lipton black tea to make this recipe and both are delicious. The Lipton is super affordable and has more of that classic iced tea flavor and bite. The earl grey adds a nice smoothness to the drink. Feel free to use whatever you have on hand!

Baking Soda- The baking soda is used to smooth out any bitter flavor from the tea.

Lemon Juice- Feel free to adjust the amount of lemon juice to fit your preference. I tend to put a little more into my tea because I love the tartness that it adds.

    Cold Brewing Iced Tea

Now, lets talk about the secret to making the best-iced tea. Its all about the cold-brew!

So what exactly does it mean to cold brew your iced tea? Cold-brew simply means to brew your drink in cold water. Rather than using boiling water, this tea is prepared in cold water. One reason why many people usually use boiling water to make iced tea is that its faster. But faster isnt always better.

In the case of making iced tea, using hot water can leave your tea with a bitter taste. This is often why teas made this way are loaded with extra sugar and artificial flavours to cover up any bitterness.

Making cold-brew iced tea leaves you with a crisp, clean and refreshing tasting tea. It also gives the opportunity to really allow the flavours in the tea to fully come out since the tea bags are able to sit in the water for over 6 hours. This gives your iced tea all those delicious subtle flavours.

If you are making this recipe with white tea or herbal tea, then you can use the boiling water method to make this tea. Cold-brewing iced tea isnt necessary for these types of teas because they dont have the compound in them that causes bitterness when brewed in hot water.
