Is It Okay To Drink Ginger Tea Before Bed

Drink This Turmeric Tea Before Bed (and these 20 miraculous things happen to your body)

With so many people nowadays suffering from all kinds of sleep disorders, knowing what types of tea you should or shouldnt drink before going to bed is incredibly important.

Tea can either alleviate or make things worse.

If you are looking for a tea to drink before going to bed one that will not keep you wide awake the whole night you need to make sure you dont consume any of the true teas.

True teas are the ones made from the Camellia sinensis plant. And the reason you dont want them on your evening tea list is that they do contain varying amounts of caffeine. And black tea is the strongest and most capable of giving you quite the energy boost.

The other teas that contain caffeine are White, Green, Oolong, and theres a few more.

Ginger, however, is considered an herbal tea. There is no natural caffeine content found in ginger. That is unless you are drinking a tea blend which may contain different tea types, which, on their turn, may contain caffeine.

Caffeine-wise this gives drinking ginger tea before bed a green light.

But not so fast!

Considering the muscle and mind relaxing effects of a nice and warm cup of tea in the evening and the fact that ginger has no caffeine content this can make ginger a great tea before bed.

Another case in point is that ginger is believed to stimulate and awaken the metabolism.

Of course, this is going to be highly individual and can vary from person to person.

Replace Wine & Coffee With Turmeric Weight Loss Tea

Is it really beneficial to drink turmeric milk at night ...

Replacing your evening wine with turmeric tea can also aid weight loss by helping you sleep better. Alcohol floods your body first as a stimulant, and then as a sedative. You get that fun buzz from it, then you get sleepy.

Did you know having alcohol in the evening can make it harder to fall asleep? Its true! Alcohol can actually keep you awake, or wake you up later as your body tries to balance everything back out. It interferes with REM sleep, which means you wake up feeling unrested in the morning.

If you have a little too much, it can makes you pass out, then wake you up in the middle of the night. That throws your sleep schedule and your hormones off, which can lead to weight gain.

Have you ever felt like this at the end of a day?

How To Customize Your Tea

Once youve made your turmeric tea, have some fun with the recipe! I like to add a sprinkle of cinnamon, or make this a more robust tea by adding a bag of chamomile or green tea to the pot while it simmers.

During cooler weather, Ill add a cinnamon stick for more toasty spice flavor. Try swapping the lemon juice for freshly squeezed orange juice and a pinch of ground cloves. For a fall treat, I use maple syrup instead of honey and add a dash of freshly ground nutmeg. So many options to keep it fun and interesting!

Turmeric Tea Serving Size

Think of golden milk as a small healing treat, not a Starbucks-size drink. 1/4 to 1/2 cup is traditional, and is the perfect amount to obtain the healing benefits without overloading your digestive system.

I encourage you to try golden milk with very little added sweetener as youll drink it before bed. A small amount of raw honey or coconut crystals both work great. The sweetener is not necessarily traditional but can be used if desired. Add to the pan off the heat if using. You could also toss a few Medjool dates into your batch of homemade almond milk to sweeten the base.

Many of you might want to know how safe drinking decaf tea is before bedtime.

Let me explain.

As we have seen all tea derived from the Camellia sinensis plant has naturally occurring caffeine content.

Decaf tea is processed in a unique way that removes the majority of its caffeine content. However, this doesnt make decaf tea caffeine-free. Albeit small, .

A decaf tea may be suitable for people that want to reduce their caffeine content but not completely cut it out. A decaf tea late in the evening, although having small amounts of caffeine, may not be a good idea for people that are sensitive to caffeine.
