Students can take advantage of many resources to help them prepare for the exam. Some of these study aids come from ATI, while others come from independent test prep organizations.
To help you structure your study plan, you can use ATI’s free TEAS six-week study plan. This plan suggests weekly study topics and advises how many hours test-takers should dedicate to studying.
ATI also publishes several test preparation products, including practice assessments, study manuals, and tutorials. These range in price from $25-$189, and students can purchase these in bundles.

How To Register For Teas
Before registering for the TEAS, determine where and when you want to take the exam. You can choose from three different options: taking the test at school, through an online proctored test, or in person at a PSI Testing Center.
ATI Testing hosts two proctored tests, once in the morning and once in the afternoonIf you choose the online option, make sure you have a stable internet connection. Proctors watch test-takers through webcam and audio, checking for any unusual or erratic behavior while students work through the exam. Exam monitoring software may also be used.

Requirements For Applying To Graduate Nursing School
Graduate level nursing has become more popular especially given the rise in distance education. More and more Masters nursing programs are available as online degree programs for working RNs and students located in areas not local to a nursing school.

How Do I Register For The Teas
- Click on the following link and follow the directions below to register and pay for the TEAS test on the ATI website.
- Follow the instructions to register for the TEAS at an institution.
- Select “Maryland” and “Hagerstown” from the appropriate drop-down menus and select “NEXT”.

Read The Directions Carefully
After youve practiced the test a few times, youll start to feel more confident about it. Its possible youll go into test day feeling good and well-equipped, and you might want to speed through the test because you feel like you have it down. Resist that urge. Test Of Essential Academic Skills
All nursing applicants must complete the nationally-normed test for nursing students known as the Test of Essential Academic Skills . Applicants will not be considered for admission to the program until they achieve a 69% or higher on the Adjusted Individual Score for Reading and an Adjusted Individual Total Score of at least 60%. This requirement should be completed prior to submission of the Supplemental Application, but no later than the application deadline. How Often Can I Take The Teas
- Students can only take the TEAS twice during each admissions cycle. The two admissions cycles are January 16 through July 15 of each year and July 16 through January 15. You are required to pay for the test each time you take it.
- Students applying to the Practical Nursing Program and the Nursing transition programs may take the TEAS test four times during the calendar year since there is only one application deadline for these programs each year
- Students can only take the TEAS once during any 30-day period. If you wish to take the TEAS a second time, you must wait at least 30 days after the first attempt.
How Long Does The Teas Test Take
Although the test time is exactly 209 minutes, all test takers will be given a 10 minute break after the Mathematics section of the test, which is the second of the four sections in the examination. These 10 minutes are NOT considered part of the 209 minutes allocated for the test.
If there is a need for you to take a break, to use the restroom or for any other reason, you must raise your hand to get permission to do so. The time you spend taking this optional break will be counted against your test time. It is, therefore, highly recommended that you not take any breaks other than the 10-minute break all are given after the Mathematics section.
