Claims Of Essiac As A Cancer Cure Are Anecdotal

The claims that Essiac cures cancer are anecdotal, meaning self-reported and not proven by scientific research. Clinical studies have not found evidence that Essiac can cure cancer. But research has found it high in antioxidants.

  • A 2006 study published in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology shows Essiac contains antioxidants that protect against DNA damage. Antioxidants also help to counteract the effects of aging and exposure to carcinogens such as asbestos.
  • A 2007 study published in Anticancer Research reported Essiac has greater antioxidant properties than red wine, green tea and cocoa.

Overall, scientific research has confirmed Essiacs antioxidant power and presented no evidence it can cure cancer.

In 2009, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration cited a brand of Essiac tea on a list of fake cancer cures that consumers should avoid.

The FDA has not approved Essiac or Flor-Essence to treat cancer or any other medical condition. Companies sell Essiac and Flor-Essence as herbal dietary supplements, which the FDA does not regulate.

Together Rene Caisse And Dr Charles Brusch Discovered How To Increase The Effectiveness Of Essiac

  • For eight years, Rene Caisse and Dr. Charles Brusch worked together conducting research on essiac tea at the Brusch Medical Research Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts. These studies were conducted during the years of 1959 through 1967.
  • Their research lead to a very important finding: there was one essiac tea formula that consistently outperformed all of the others. Furthermore, Rene Caisse found that the best results came from using powdered essiac herbs rather than whole herbs.
  • We use the very same powdered herbs that Rene Caisse and Dr. Charles Brusch found to be the most effective. While some companies out there still choose to sell the outdated four herb formula, the best and most up-to-date essiac available today contains eight herbs. That is the formula that Rene Caisse recommended to be used moving forward at the conclusion of her research in 1967.
  • Eight herb essiac is also the only type of essiac covered by a Money-Back Guarantee that your health will improve when using the product for six months. None of the four herb formulas carry a Guarantee like this!

About The Essiac Formula

The original Native American formula is an 8-herb combination, but Rene Caisse refined it to four herbs in the 1920s and subsequently primarily used four herbs as her basic formula for the rest of her life. There are many different versions of 8-herb Essiac being sold today, but none of the 8-herb formulas being sold contain the correct eight herbs. They generally have six of them right. However, Rene Caisse is not known to have ever used blessed thistle or kelp in Essiac. Archival evidence suggests that the original 8 herbs were: Burdock , Sheep sorrel , Slippery elm , Turkey rhubarb , Red clover , Watercress , Periwinkle , and Goldthread .

Nurse Caisse did work with other herbs besides the four in the classic Essiac formula, including some of the original 8 herbs. She patented a kidney remedy, and made a salve for radiation burns, and those formulae are included in The Complete Essiac Essentials book . The classic four-herb formula was made public 16 years after Rene Caisse’s death when her long-time friend and helper Mary McPherson filed an affidavit with the Bracebridge Ontario Town Clerk.

How does Essiac Tea Work?

Your immune system is constantly fighting disease. But when it becomes compromised, by unhealthy living and high toxin levels, the disease is able to gain a foothold. The tea cleanses the body of toxins, repairs the immune system and strengthens vital organs, improving nearly all aspects of health. As a result, the body is able to fight disease on its own. As we will discuss in more detail soon, the benefits of essiac tea are numerous! Essiac herbs are also a rich, natural source of vitamins and minerals and all of them contain antioxidants which are known to protect against cell damage caused by free radicals. Excessive amounts of these free radicals can lead to cell injury and death, which may contribute to many diseases such as cancer, stroke, heart disease, diabetes and many other major disorders. Essiac tea is also used by many people for all around health and prevention.

Does Essiac Really Cure Cancer?

The Source Rene Caisse And Mary Mcpherson

Sheila Snow and Mali Klein knew the wisdom in ‘going to the source’ when looking for those little answers that inform much bigger questions. Sheila’s personal acquaintance with Rene Caisse was invaluable in this regard. Rene’s long-time friend and helper, Mary McPherson, also worked directly with Sheila and Mali over the course of more than ten years. She helped immensely in giving insight into what made Rene tick. When Mary passed away in 2006, she bequeathed some very special Essiac treasures to Sheila. Sheila, who passed away in 2008, had amassed quite a collection of Essiac history, all of which Mali has now inherited. Mali shares yet more new material from the Sheila Snow Fraser Essiac Archives in The Essiac Essentials Handbook.

What You Need To Know About The Misleading Term Original Essiac

At one point during the research process there was a four herb essiac formula that Rene Caisse had considered using. That is the one known as the “Original” Essiac. However, Rene Caisse and Dr. Charles Brusch improved upon this formula during their years of study from 1959 to 1967. During that time, Rene Caisse and Dr. Brusch discovered that addition of four more herbs made the formula even more effective.

The newer eight herb formula contained the same four herbs as the original – plus four additional herbs designed to enhance the effectiveness of the essiac blend. The ratio of the original four herbs was maintained and the serving size of eight herb essiac was simply increased from 2 oz. of essiac at time to 3 oz. at a time to account for the presence of the extra four herbs. Many companies today still sell the four herb formula because it’s the only one that is public knowledge. Read labels to be sure you are getting the best – and that is 8 herb essiac!

This advanced eight herb essiac tea is the formula that we have available on this site. This formula was never made available to the public in order to help protect from companies who may overcharge for this wonderful product. It was given to us by Dr. Charles Brusch who trusted that we would keep the price reasonable so that more people could afford it. Keeping in line with affordability being the goal, domestic orders 10 lb. and under Ship Free via Priority Mail.
