Add 3 cups of water to a medium-size saucepan and bring it to a boil over high heat.

Once the water comes to a boil, reduce the heat to low. Add 1 tablespoon grated ginger, 1 whole cinnamon stick, and 1 teaspoon ground turmeric and simmer for 5 minutes.

Switch off the heat and remove the saucepan from heat. Add ¼ cup lemon juice and stir well. Add honey if you wish to.
