To help you structure your study plan, you can use ATI’s free TEAS six-week study plan. This plan suggests weekly study topics and advises how many hours test-takers should dedicate to studying.

How To Register For Teas
Before registering for the TEAS, determine where and when you want to take the exam. You can choose from three different options: taking the test at school, through an online proctored test, or in person at a PSI Testing Center.
ATI Testing hosts two proctored tests, once in the morning and once in the afternoonIf you choose the online option, make sure you have a stable internet connection. I realized early on that in order to get into nursing school the biggest determining factors were going to be my grades in my science classes as well as what I scored on the TEAS exam.

What is a good TEAS score?
This really depends on your target program. Generally speaking, a TEAS score between 59% 79% is considered proficient. A score in this range often qualifies a student for a nursing program, particularly for ADN/ASN programs. This varies by state and program, however! A score of 80% or above is considered advanced. Advanced scores are often required for competitive programs. A score above 92% is considered exemplary.For many students, getting into the 80s is the most difficult hurdle. Other students want above a 92 percent so that they can feel confident about admission into some of the most competitive nursing programs in the country.Please note that TEAS scores do not indicate quality nursing programs. Sometimes score cutoffs reflect state population and college funding.

- The ATI TEAS English and Language Usage section is 28 minutes long and contains 28 questions. Expect questions on grammar, spelling and sentence structure.
- In this section, certain questions will take longer to answer than others. For example, it might be quicker to resolve simple spelling mistakes, and take you longer to assemble proper grammar for a passage.
- Review grammar rules! Make sure you know the names of the various grammar terms, and what they mean
- Be able to identify different parts of speech

How Often Can I Take The Teas
- Students can only take the TEAS twice during each admissions cycle. The two admissions cycles are January 16 through July 15 of each year and July 16 through January 15. You are required to pay for the test each time you take it.
- Students applying to the Practical Nursing Program and the Nursing transition programs may take the TEAS test four times during the calendar year since there is only one application deadline for these programs each year
- Students can only take the TEAS once during any 30-day period. If you wish to take the TEAS a second time, you must wait at least 30 days after the first attempt.
Read The Directions Carefully
After youve practiced the test a few times, youll start to feel more confident about it. Its possible youll go into test day feeling good and well-equipped, and you might want to speed through the test because you feel like you have it down. Resist that urge. Even if youve seen similar practice questions dozens of times, take a moment to read all the directions.
