Where To Buy Organic Loose Leaf Tea

Vahdam Himalayan Pearls Green Tea

Moringa Loose Leaf Tea by Green Virgin Products

Origin: India

The first tea on our list from India. Indian green tea often has to take a back seat to Chinese and Japanese green teas, but I feel that this is a little harsh.

Indian green tea is fantastic and some of my favorites are from India.

Including this one. As the name implies the Vahdam offering is grown in the foothills of the mighty Himalayas. All of the leaves are certified organic, pesticide-free, single source, and fair-trade. Get a taste of VAHDAM Himalayan Pearls Green Tea, available on Amazon.

Vahdam takes great pride in the way they make their tea. From the tea leaves to the people who grow their wonderful products.

It really is a guilt-free process when you buy from this company. The handpicked leaves are rolled in such a way that gives them their distinctive pearl shape.

The Choice Is Limited

There are slightly better choices of tea at premium supermarkets, but even these stores have a pretty limited range of tea types, mostly from larger brands. Local tea shops may be a great alternative, but they are rare, at least in this part of the world where Starbucks coffee is a drink of choice. In comparison, the huge variety of teas available online will leave you amazed. This abundance of choice may be overwhelming, but hopefully, MadTeaClub can help you find your bearings!

How Online Tea Stores Bring Value To You And The Farmers

The best tea brands have personal connections with tea-growing communities. They export directly from the producers as opposed to wholesale importers. Tea drinkers get their garden fresh loose leaf tea in a matter of just a few weeks. This economically straightforward business model eliminates the middleman. As such, the value goes only to the two key parties the consumer and the tea grower. Moreover, since harvesting, processing, and packaging in one place leaves more money within the tea growing community, this business model also supports better social programs such as schools for kids and healthcare for families.

Which Is Better: Loose Tea Or Tea Bags

Loose leaf tea almost always beats tea bags in terms of quality. Teabags typically contain broken or shredded tea leaves and tea dust. They rarely come close to the flavor, complexity, and depth of loose leaf teas that include full or partially cut leaves and buds. You can expect better flavor and less bitterness from loose leaf teas. These teas can also be re-steeped without majorly compromising their taste. Plus, they tend to retain their freshness for longer durations and come in more varieties than tea bags. Teabags do win points for convenience, though. They are typically quicker to brew than loose leaf tea and leave less mess for you to clean up after.

The Taste And Aroma Of Genmaicha

The brown rice is the key to this teas unique flavor. The roasted rice adds a slightly salty nutty flavor to the tea.

It gives the tea a much fuller taste a texture. It almost feels like a light soup in my opinion. But still very much a cup of refreshing green tea.

The aroma is as unique as the flavor. The subtle grassy notes of the green tea leaves are complimented perfectly by the earthy tones of the roasted brown rice.

Art Of Tea goes a step further with their Genmaicha. They use a premium Gyokuro green tea as the base along with the roasted rice and a matcha green tea on top of everything else. You can check out Art Of Tea Kyoto Tea for yourself right here.

It is a unique and flavorful experience, to say the least. One of the finest genmaicha green teas out there.

Check For 100% Organic Certified Tea

Certified organic green tea is something you can look for in your green teas. I try to always look for teas that are certified. It is not a necessity, however. There are plenty of green teas that are not organic certified that taste just fine.

But, in my opinion, a tea that is certified organic is the way to go. For the simple reason that I think they taste better.

That could just be a placebo but at this point, I always go for certified organic green tea.

Look For Fair Trade Tea

Oolong Organic Whole Loose Leaf Tea â Organic Handcrafted ...

Fairtrade tea follows the fair trade guidelines set in place to help protect developing countries from being taken advantage of by larger more developed nations.

Fairtrade means that the people who actually grow the tea are going to get a fair deal when it comes to work and wages.

Again, this is not a requirement for great green tea. But it is something I always look for and frankly I cannot remember the last time I saw a tea that was not fair trade. Everyone seems to be on board with this nowadays.

And the entire tea industry is better for it I believe.

Bigger Is Not Always Better

Do not use tea brand recognition as your only guide. Larger brands may play it safe and limit their portfolios to basic choices to market to more consumers. In contrast, smaller tea companies are typically more enthusiastic and passionate about their business. New tea brands often create unique artisan tea blends, smart teaware, and inventive packaging. Many online merchants specialize in bringing rare loose leaf teas to the market in limited quantities. These products wouldnt fit large tea brands due to their lack of scale and limited supply.

The Aroma And The Taste

The aroma of this outstanding green tea is one of vegetation. Undergrowth after a spring shower would be the way I would describe it.

There is something very fresh and clean about the fragrance of this tea both in the bag and when you steep it.

There is a floral hint as well. Get a taste of Darjeeling Emerald Green Tea available on Amazon. I think you will enjoy it.

The taste follows suit with the aroma. It has a grassy, smooth taste. With only the slightest indication of bitterness.

In fact, that may be the biggest problem for this tea for some people. It is so smooth and drinkable that some might perceive it as a weak tea.

I dont believe it is weak. Delicate? Yes. Weak? No. That delicate taste is what gives it its character. I think you will love it as an everyday green tea.

This is something you can have just about anytime with any food and not be overwhelmed by the taste.

Grown in China, this tea is a wonderful addition to any lunch or evening cup of tea. The smoky flavor makes this one of my favorite after-dinner green teas.

How To Make The Right Choice Before Buying Loose Leaf Tea Brands

It would be best to make the right choice before you buy loose leaf tea brands, and many factors go into it. This blog post will provide things you should know about purchasing loose leaf tea brands to help you make an informed decision. Whether this is your first time or not, we have something here for everyone!

1. Know your budget

You can’t be frugal if you don’t know how much money is available. To make good purchasing decisions, ask yourself what your monthly income and expenses look like before deciding on loose leaf tea brands. Your budget is enough to spend on products that cost under $500, $300, or $200.

First, you need to determine how much money is available every month. That number will change depending on if it’s a chocolate truffle or something else that costs money. For example, your monthly expenses might include rent/mortgage payments, car insurance premiums, and cable TV bills.

Next, list all the things you have already purchased for this year. It doesn’t matter whether they are big-ticket items like an engagement ring or small purchases such as movie tickets – write them down in order of when you bought them so far this year.

Once everything has been written out on paper, go back over each item one by one until there are no more left to review. Doing this exercise at least once per quarter will always know exactly how much money is coming in and where it’s all going.

2. Consider what you need the loose leaf tea brands for.

Ask co-workers as well.

What To Look For In A Green Tea

Oolong Organic Whole Loose Leaf Tea â Organic Handcrafted ...

There are a few factors to look for when buying green tea. Many of the bagged, blended green teas are going to taste very similar.

I find Bigalow green to taste very much like Lipton green tea for example. I enjoy them. But they dont have anything distinctive about them.

They are purposefully non-offensive to anyone. But fresh, loose leaf green tea has its own personality based on a variety of factors.

Single source teas have the most personality. Finding the region that suits your tastes the best is part of the fun of discovering new green tea.
