The Role Of The Cardiac System

The human heart is a hollow organ that lies between the left and right lungs, slightly on the left side, and quite close to the center of the chest. It is protected within the body by the ribs. The heart is an involuntary muscle that contracts and relaxes so that it is able to send and pump blood throughout the entire body. This pumping action is enabled by the electrical impulses that it conducts from and to the areas of the heart itself.

The heart cycle consists of two phases which are systole and diastole. Systole is the contraction of the heart and diastole is the rest phase of the heart. Each beat of the heart consists of both systole and diastole. The “lub dub” of the heart is systole and diastole, respectively.

Under normal circumstances, the heartbeats from 60 to 100 times per minute or from 3,600 beats to 6,000 per hour. A pulse rate of less than 60 per minute is called bradycardia or a slower than normal heart rate and a pulse rate of more than 100 per minute is referred to as tachycardia or a more rapid than normal heart rate.

What Are Good Teas Test Scores

    What is the TEAS test score needed for nursing school? What is a passing score on the TEAS test? In reality, there is no exact particular score that is considered good. Whether a grade is considered good or not depends on many numerous factors, especially the regulations of the school where you apply. However, in general, a score between 59% and 79% would normally be considered Proficient. At this level, you are regarded to have the necessary nursing knowledge, and most are qualified to attend medical school programs. In addition, a score between 80%-100% is considered advanced and exemplary. Of course, achieving a score above 80% is always the aspiration of every TEAS test candidate. The higher your score, the better your chances of getting into high-quality programs, or more attractive career opportunities. By contrast, if you score less than 58%, it means that you have trouble with your nursing knowledge, and will need more consolidation for achieving progress in this field.;

    Competitive Teas Test Scores

HOW TO PASS THE TEAS // ATI TEAS TEST

The Competitive score is a TEAS test score range from about 59% to 77%. At this level, students are expected to have a general understanding of the nursing field and be eligible to attend nursing schools or enter the workforce. However, you also need to absorb more advanced knowledge to improve your specialized ability.

    Less competitive TEAS test scores

Less competitive scores are scores that fluctuate between 41.3% and 58.0%. This score indicates that you only have basic health sciences-associated knowledge. You still get the opportunity to apply to professional schools, but the probability of being accepted is less than other competitors. Therefore, adding knowledge and improving grades is the key to progress in this field.

    Below average TEAS test scores

Below average scores are the lowest scores in the benchmark range, typically between 0.0% and 40.7%. This score demonstrates that you are not well prepared and have a limited amount of knowledge. At this point, applying to professional schools or medical work environments is not possible. You need to be more prepared in terms of knowledge, skills, and spirit to improve your score.

    Your Teas Score Report

After completing the test, candidates will receive a report on the percentage of correct answers on your test. However, the time to receive the report will vary, depending on the exam format you choose. To be more specific, you can receive your score as soon as you complete the final answer in case you take the test via electronic formats. On the contrary, if you take the paper exam, you need to wait longer to receive the results. The reason behind this waiting time is that your test will be sent to ATI for grading.

In the score report, there will be 3 different parameters:

    • Total Score: This is the overall score for your entire test. It will assess your overall capacity.
    • Content Area Score: This is a score calculated specifically for independent sections. You can rely on it to know your strengths, weaknesses as well as additional knowledge.
    • Sub-Content Area Score: This is the score calculated for the sub-categories in the test.

Note: The total score of the test does not represent the average TEAS test score of the 4 sections. Each section will have a different score.

The Program Mean Score is the total score of the test takers divided by the average. However, this score will only be calculated within a particular test program type. In addition, the Program Percentile Rank will show the percentage of students who scored higher/equal to/lower than you in that program area.
