Our visit to here was part of a food tour so we were not privy to a full sit down meal experience. This review will be based on what we were served while visiting during the tour.Just Add Honey Tea Company – This place has been around since 2006 and its a place where the owner, Brandi Shelton has blended what she feels is right and tastes good. Plain and simple with a lot of love. They had prepared for us a blend of tea with peaches that had a great flavor. We walked around in her shop and I observed teas of all different blends and flavors and I am sure there would be a blend in there just about for everyone. Great place with a very friendly staff and owner. Come by and check it out.
We wandered in this shop because my friend wanted to try some hot tea. They were giving away samples of southern sweet tea which was refreshing. She ordered a hot chocolate mint tea. It took about 5 minutes to brew. It was good. Later we went back & I ordered a cold black & coconut tea made with milk. It was also good. I personally liked the second choice best. There serve you your tea with a fresh baked ginger snap. They sell tea by the ounce. The also sell coffee.

For a lot of us, hobbies usually just stay hobbies. But at its core, entrepreneurship is about turning a passion for a product or idea into a full-fledged business, and thats exactly what our guests today did. Were pleased to welcome Brandi and Jermail Shelton, owners of Just Add Honey, an Atlanta-based tea company located in the citys Sweet Auburn neighborhood.
Brandi started Just Add Honey as something fun to do in her spare time. Having lived overseas for a time, Brandi always enjoyed tea. The second most popular beverage in the world after water, countries all around the world use tea to commune and spend time with one another. So, Brandi brought back her affinity for tea to the states as just a hobby, to begin with. Once Brandi and Jermail got married and started a family, Brandi didnt want to go back to the hustle and bustle of a 9 to 5 job, so they invested in a commercial kitchen, sales reps, and began showing at trade shows.
Jermail also quit his full-time job to give 100 percent of his time to Just Add Honey. He is a firm believer in you get out what you put in, and with Brandis support, things really started to take off. In 2014, Brandi and Jermail experimented with a pop-up location in the Sweet Auburn neighborhood of downtown Atlanta, to find out the level of demand for their product. Currently, Just Add Honey has two brick and mortar locations as well as an e-commerce business.

While scouring places for tea, I decided I would MAKE what I want. Combining flavors from around the world that was pleasing to the palate while still keeping it light and interesting, just add honey tea company was born. Brandis southern roots run deep. A native of New Orleans, shes called Atlanta, Georgia home since 1996, met her husband there, and is now raising a busy blended family just northeast of the city. Her company Just Add Honey sells flavored and spiced teas mixtures from local farmers markets, online, and in boutiques nationwide.
Brandi works her magic out of a professional kitchen that is half Japanese teahouse, half laboratory, and surrounded by shimmering bottles and apothecary jars, the air scented with her many custom mixtures. Shes been in this location for three years, but for the first two years she was so focused on product that the front office remained bare. I finally decided this year, Im going to be here for a while, I should hang up some art!

1. What inspired you to open your own business with the teas?Drinking quality teas wasnt as big at the time in the States. Other than Teavana, loose tea wasnt well known. And people really liked what I made! Also, the photography market was changing so I had a lot of time on my hands.
2. Who are your clients? Do you sell retail or wholesale?Our teas are sold on our website. We brew iced teas for coffee shops and restaurants and sell our tins to other retail locations nation wide.
3. How do you develop your custom blends?Our blends come from many places. Ive developed tea blends based on customer recommendations. Ive created a blend out of boredom with my current blends. I once had a drink that I loved, tried dissecting the flavors, and created a blend inspired by it!
4.What is your favorite tea accessory?Right now Im loving our Tea Traveler! I can enjoy a cup of tea anytime with it. The container stays cool to touch even when the tea is hot on the inside.
