Keys To Making The Best Iced Matcha Latte At Home

  • High-Quality Matcha Powder is a MUST. No matter what you do, if you are not using high-quality matcha powder your drink wont tastes that great. Be sure to use high-quality, ceremonial grade matcha powder for the best tasting results. This is the matcha powder I use:
  • Use a Milk Frother. You can mix the matcha powder with the liquid a whisk, but I prefer to use a milk frother. It helps to ensure the matcha mixture is creamy, frothy, and clump-free. The milk frother I use is relatively inexpensive and I use it daily!
  • Coconut Creamer takes this drink to a whole new level! So, as I mentioned, Ive experimented with this recipe quite a bit. Ive found that mixing the matcha powder with dairy-free coconut creamer gives the latte a rich, sweet, velvety texture and flavor! I absolutely love it! I use Trader Joes Original Coconut Creamer. If you do not have coconut creamer on hand, you can simply use oat milk or any non-dairy milk of choice to mix with the matcha.
  • Make it an Oat Milk Matcha Latte. Oat Milk is the best!Of course, that is solely my opinion. I love making my matcha latte with oat milk. Oat Milk has the closest consistency to regular milk than any other non-dairy milk. It also froths up especially well, making it perfect when making lattes. • Best Milk For Matcha: The Bottom Line

Lauren Ladniers Instagram post: 1 iced matcha latte with oat milk & 1 ...

Matcha goes well with coconut, almond, oat, and soy milk as they do not cancel out matchas unique and tender flavor and rich nutty aroma. Coconut milk is by far the most popular milk used for matcha latte. However, you can add any other plant-based milk that you like. Do not add cows milk or any other dairy to matcha, as it will destroy the taste of the matcha and alter the way your body absorbs matcha nutrients.

    Health Benefits Of Matcha

Matcha has high antioxidant and high anti-inflammatory properties, and properties to aid in cancer prevention, blood sugar regulation, metabolic disorders, hypertension, cognitive function and more.

Matcha has multiple anti-diabetic properties. It helps manage blood sugars by inhibiting glucose absorption, regulating insulin, and improving insulin sensitivity.

Compared to coffee, matcha’s caffeine is longer lasting and more effective due to its theanine content , but how much caffeine matcha has is based on its growing process and length. In general, each gram of matcha will have anywhere from 19 to 44 mg of caffeine. This recipe calls for 2 grams of matcha , so that’s 38 to 88mg of caffeine.

Tips To Make The Best Matcha Latte

    • Use ceremonial matcha for the best quality, color and flavor. Culinary matcha also works for a cheaper option, but it will be more bitter and will have a dull green color.
    • Use hot, not boiling water.
    • If you love a stronger matcha flavor, you can add more matcha if preferred. If youre new to matcha and/or prefer a lighter matcha flavor, start with 1/2-3/4 teaspoon.

    Which Matcha To Use

The Matcha Latte | Oat Milk

Starbucks baristas don’t know the brand or grade of matcha they use . It comes packaged as a matcha mixture with sugar blended in.

Matcha is sold in mixtures with sugar already added or as a pure powder.

This Matcha Sense is the ceremonial grade brand and size I buy. It’s a high-quality, smooth matcha flavor with no sugar, and it’s a good value.

Matcha is expensive and its price is based on various factors. If you search for your own matcha online you have to look out for three things mainly:

    • that it’s matcha powder only .
    • the size is decent for the price .
    • it’s in packaging that’s not see-through .

Copycat Starbucks Iced Matcha Latte Recipe

After some serious investigation , I learned just how simple it is to make Starbucks Iced Matcha Latte. I noticed that they were simply mixing matcha powder into the milk, which is contrary to many recipes you see online that instruct mixing the matcha with warm water first, then adding it to your milk of choice.

I have tried it both ways and I must say, mixing the matcha powder directly into the milk makes a world of a difference. When I prepare the matcha by adding it to water first, my drink tastes watery, which I dont like. So, I have experimented with this recipe quite a bit and have now figured out the keys to making an iced matcha latte BETTER than any Starbucks matcha latte .

    Oat Milk Matcha Latte

If you are looking to try a new drink to add to your catalog, look no further than this oat milk matcha latte! It’s sweet, creamy, and refreshing and it gives you a boost! What’s not to love?

This has been my favorite caffeinated drink for years now. And since it got warm outside, I have been making it a cold latte pretty much every day for the past two months.

Rose Matcha Iced Latte with Oat milk

There are so many matcha drinks I am dying to make for the blog. But, I thought a cup of simple steamy vanilla green tea latte was a good place to start.

Because vanilla and matcha are simply meant to be together. I would go as far as saying that this cup of vanilla matcha latte tastes just like cake!

When making it, I love to use a whole vanilla bean. The flavor simply feels more ‘real’ and intense. Plus, the tiny black dots make the creamy white foam so appetizing. It just feels like a treat-to-myself when using the real deal. But, vanilla beans are expensive and not essential to make an amazingly flavorful drink. I enjoy the vanilla beans from the company Vanilla bean kings that I ordered online.

You can use vanilla extract to make it as well, but here is the trick: you will need a whole tablespoon of the extract to flavor it.

Matcha Latte: How It Tastes And Why Drink It

If you have never had a matcha latte, then you might need to reevaluate your goals in life. Just kiddin. But, really, you need to explore the whole fun world of matcha, you won’t look back.

Matcha latte is simply a satisfying warm drink made with ground green tea leaves . Matcha can boost your energy level and help your focus stay sharp, which can help you cut on your coffee consumption. Also packed with nutrient-dense chlorophyl and rich in antioxidants, it is known to provide anti-inflammatory benefits if consumed regularly.

But there is so much more to its amazing nutrition: matcha green powder has big flavor that somehow is very unique and oddly addictive. It carries an earthy and ‘almost bitter’ flavor that when paired with a hint of sweetness, such as naturally sweetened oat milk and maple syrup in this case, becomes a delight.

    What Is A Matcha Latte

A matcha latte is made with matcha powder, water, and your milk of choice. It doesnt have to be sweetened, but often it is. Especially if youre buying it from a coffee shop like Starbucks.

You can actually make a matcha latte hot or cold, but unless its super chilly outside, I prefer this iced version. Its so delightfully creamy and refreshing!

How To Make An Iced Vanilla Matcha Latte

EASY oat milk matcha latte recipe

You can easily make an iced version of this drink, which is perfect in the summer when looking for a refreshing matcha drink.

To make it, skip warming up your milk completely. Instead, add everything cold to a blender and blend until frothy.

Then, pour over ice cubes in a tall glass and drink cold.

As a side note: I believe that infusing the vanilla bean into the the milk while it is warming up makes the flavor more pronounced, so you might want to consider using vanilla extract when making it cold instead. Or, add the vanilla seeds and emptied vanilla bean to the milk and let it sit in the fridge overnight so the flavor has enough time to infuse. Remove the bean before blending.

    Does Matcha Have Caffeine

Iced Matcha Latte with Oat Milk : Fresh Food Hall fast delivery by App ...

Per serving, matcha has more caffeine than regular green tea, but less caffeine than coffee.

However, matcha has a couple of advantages over coffee, because it’s high in antioxidants and amino acid count. This is part of the reason why when drinking matcha, the caffeine release in the blood is slower. This gives more of a steady and prolonged energy boost, rather than an immediate high.

    How To Avoid Matcha Clumps

One of the biggest issues when dealing with matcha is making sure that you dont get clumps on the powder in your drink. The best way to avoid this is to first dilute the powder into a little liquid to form a paste and mix that with the rest of the milk. However, you then still need to mix that together- so there are a few methods of going about this.

In a blender 10-15 seconds is all you need in a blender. Add the milk to the blender first then the matcha paste and blend.

You could also use a blender bottle , a cocktail shaker, a frother whisk, a mason jar, or any air-tight jar , or even a bamboo whisk .

Top Tip: use a little hot milk or water to first dissolve the powder and then youll have to issue with clumps!

Why Use A Blender When Making Matcha Lattes:

    • No grainy green tea residue left in your cup. The blender will make sure the powder is fully dissolved into the milk and won’t tend to sink at the bottom of your cup, anyway not as quickly as when whisked manually.
    • No need to sift the matcha powder: the powder is so fine that it tends to clump together while storing. When whisking it manually, it is recommended to first sift the powder into the cup to help incorporate it into the milk and avoid lumps. Using a blender will have you skip this step!
    • I tend to use my blender when making more than one matcha latte at once. I can just blend a larger amount and don’t have to whisk each cup by hand.
    • Look at that elegant thick froth! The blender pretty much whips the matcha-oat milk to a thick and luscious mixture, which creates a beautiful foam layer over the matcha tea after poured into the cup.
