What To Consider When Purchasing A Teas Prep Course
Many important factors should be considered when choosing a TEAS prep course. The most important factors should be the ones that apply to you individually. If you are someone who is shopping on a budget, and this is important to you, then price should be an important factor. Everyone is different, so the most important factors will vary.
Price
Price is ususally an important factor for many students looking for TEAS prep. Luckily, prep in the TEAS space comes in all different price points. For example, BoostPrep offers their TEAS course for $49, while other providers are in the $500+ range.
Content
Content is another important factor to consider. Content is what is included in the course and how you will learn. While some of the courses above are more in-depth than others, they all made our list because they all offer solid content for the TEAS exam.
Other Factors to Consider
Some other factors to consider include:
- Study discipline – if you routinely have trouble maintaining a study schedule, you’ll find that a prep course could be worth it.
- Need for practice– if you want to ensure you are ready for the actual exam, choose an option that offers a ton of practice.
- Learning style – match one of the above best TEAS prep courses to your learning style.
What Are The Important Dates For Taking The Teas
You can register to take the TEAS in several ways, including online, on-campus at your institution, or on-site at a PSI National Testing Center. All tests are proctored and offered at varying days and times that are dependent on the location you choose. You can access more information about dates and testing locations by visiting ATI online.
What Is The Ati Teas Test
The ATI TEAS test is a standardized exam that students take to get admitted into a nursing school and other health science programs. It assesses the students knowledge and skills in Math, Science, English, and Reading which health science schools identified as relevant to evaluating students readiness for a nursing program. ATI stands for the test maker Assessment Technologies Institute, and TEAS stands for Test of Essential Academic Skills.
Tip: Although every program has a different requirement for minimum test scores, its still best to aim for the highest score you could get. Many schools turn away applicants even if they have above-average scores because they prioritize the best candidates. Instances like this are especially true for competitive nursing schools.

You can problem solve, see connections, and learn nuances of the topic. These types of lessons help you prepare for a wide variety of possible TEAS questions.

Itâs not always easy to tell how much caffeine is in a cup of tea. Caffeine content varies depending on the type of teaeven two black teas can have disparate levels of caffeineand how the tea is prepared. Water temperature, steep time, and the amount of tea used all affect caffeine content. On average, an 8-ounce cup of black tea contains around 50 milligrams of caffeine, which is roughly half a cup of coffee. Some black teas have as high as 120 milligrams of caffeine, however. Oolong averages slightly less caffeine than black tea at 40 milligrams per cup. Green tea ranges from 12 to 75 milligrams, with an average of around 30 milligrams. You Need To Increase Your Score By 5
Its hard to get a significant score increase when you are studying by yourself or using typical study tools. Study manuals and practice questions are great, but they often dont provide enough support for students who need a significant score increase.
We publish our student assessment data to stay transparent. The average Prenursing Smarter student increases their assessment scores by 15 points, which is an average increase of 25%!
Emily, a Prenursing Smarter student, says she wished she had found my TEAS Prep Program sooner. With Prenursing Smarter, she moved into the advanced level with her TEAS score. Today I woke up to take my TEAS test exam for the 7th time this past year. I finally got into the 80s and moved from proficient level to advanced! I cried my eyes out.
I couldnt have made it in the 80s without your help and your tips. Im so happy to be eligible and Im so grateful for your help and your program.
Before joining Prenursing Smarter, she was completely burnt out. Now, her score qualifies her for her competitive nursing program.
Kaplan Ati Teas Strategies
The Kaplan ATI TEAS Strategies guide is a solid prep option for your test preparation. We recommend using this to prepare for the science section, as an addition to the TEAS Secrets book mentioned above.
The science section in this book is much better than the one above, but you might have to consult your previous textbooks or Khan Academy.
The full-length practice test and practice questions resemble the ATI TEAS exam closely. Its worth buying this book, even if its simply for the two extra practice exams. Kaplan updates its book and resources annually, so you can rest assured that youre viewing the most up-to-date content.
This TEAS test prep guide also offers 300 practice test questions online, which is nice addition but shouldnt be the deciding factor for purchasing this book.
Kaplan is so sure of its resources, it offers a score guarantee. If you use Kaplans online resources, practice questions, and book but dont see any score improvement, you get your money back. Purchasing a test prep guide with a money-back guarantee is always a good idea, as it shows the faith the company has in its book.
The Kaplan ATI TEAS Strategies may not be the best book weve reviewed, but its still a good option. We recommend buying it for the science section and the extra practice.

How Many Times Can I Take The Teas Exam
You can take the TEAS exam three times in a year, though each school has different requirements for how many times you can take the test and how much time should elapse before you retake it.
Learn the schools requirements to which you are applying so that you have enough time to take the exam multiple times without missing the application deadline.
Take Another Practice Test To See If Youve Improved
After you finish doing practice problems, try out your new skills on another practice test. You can score the new test and see whether youre satisfied with your new scores. You always have the option of repeating this process if theres still room for growth. If you dont see much improvement, you may have to go back and reevaluate your study methods.
If there are some concepts that youre having a really hard time wrapping your head around, Id encourage you to seek outside help from a tutor or student partner. Sometimes, if you cant figure something out yourself, an alternative explanation is what you need for it to click.

Understanding Your Teas Score
You will receive a composite score reflecting your overall performance and a sub-score for each content area. If you take the test online, you will see your scores immediately upon completion of the test. If you take the paper-and-pencil version, your scores will show up in your ATI online account within 48 hours of ATIs receiving the test from the testing site. In addition to your scores, the report will identify topics on which you missed questions. You can access your score report at the testmakers website at any time by logging in.
Some schools require a certain composite score for admission, while others require you to meet a minimum score in each content area. Some schools do not have any specific cutoff scores for admission. Be sure to check with the program to which you are applying to find out the requirements.
Be aware that some schools with a cutoff score require applicants to achieve the minimum score within a certain number of test administrations. For example, a school may require applicants to obtain the minimum score by taking the TEAS no more than twice. In this case, if you did not achieve the cutoff score after taking the test twice but did get a score above the threshold the third time you took the test, your application would still not meet that schools criteria for admission.
