Can I Add Mct Oil To My Green Tea

Yes, you can make a bulletproof Matcha latte, aka. Matcha keto latte with MCT oil by adding 1 teaspoon of MCT oil into this recipe.

You can also use coconut oil if you dont have MCT oil. Both have very similar properties.

However, remember that you will have to blend your hot drink to pulse the oil into the remaining ingredients.

If you dont use a high-speed blender, the MCT oil will float on top of your keto green tea Matcha latte.

Bring the saucepan to medium heat and warm for 2-3 minutes until hot and small bubbles start to form on the side of the saucepan.

Remove from heat and serve.

My new favorite: Matcha latte made with almond milk! : RateMyTea

Theres honey in this. Thats not vegan, right?

Right, adding honey to this drink doesnt make this totally vegan. If youre looking for it to be completely plant-based, just sub agave.

My matcha was clumpy. What happened?

If you have a mesh strainer, you can also pour the matcha latte through it to remove clumps. I am usually too lazy to get it out in the morning, which is why I just let it settle for a second and then pour carefully enough so that the little clumps just stay put in the bottom of the jar.

Can I make this into a hot matcha latte?

You can, you totally can. TBH, I cant stomach matcha green tea lattes when theyre hot. Just too much of a green plant steaminess in my face. But it totally works that way if you like it.

This recipe will give you two cups of matcha latte. Naturally, if thats too much for you to drink at once, you can easily reduce the size. For a stronger latte add some more matcha green tea powder. However, if youve never tried matcha green tea before, starting off with smaller doses might not be such a bad idea.

Also, adding a few drops of rum extract can be a fabulous trick to highlight that wonderful grassy flavor every matcha green tea powder has. Vanilla extract, on the other hand, will neutralize that specific matcha tone.

Best Milk For Matcha: The Bottom Line

Matcha goes well with coconut, almond, oat, and soy milk as they do not cancel out matchas unique and tender flavor and rich nutty aroma. Coconut milk is by far the most popular milk used for matcha latte. However, you can add any other plant-based milk that you like. Do not add cows milk or any other dairy to matcha as it will destroy the taste of the matcha and alter the way your body absorbs matcha nutrients.

So to set the stage. MATCHA GREEN TEA IS THE BOMB.COM.

I didnt know about it until, like, two months ago. It all started with an obsession with a local tea bar in St. Paul, where Id order this thing called a Royal Tea Latte and because the Royal had to brew for a few minutes, Id sit there and watch all the other tea people ordering and navigating the scary-exciting menu of a tea bar.

And thats when I realized: whoa, matcha.

The house is still. Its the quietest it has been in weeks, with the exception of the dog snoring, washing machine gurgling and the roomba vacuuming on the other side of the house. Now that the kids are back in school, I have grand plans of being very productive and meeting a friend or two for coffee.

But heres the thingif we meet for coffee, I probably wont order coffee.

Somehow, over the course of the last year, my beverage of choice whenever I go to a coffee house is a matcha green tea latte, made with almond milk, foam art a pretty bonus. I love the earthiness of it, how cozy it is to sip as I chat, and since it feels slightly mysterious, I used to assume it was the kind of drink that would be hard to recreate at home.

But its not. I started making my own matcha lattes at home during the holidays, and while my foam art leaves much to be desired, the mystery has been debunked its really easy to make!

To Make Matcha Green Tea Latte:

Now that you know the ratio of matcha to water to almond milk, let’s find out the perfect method to make a great almond milk matcha latte.

This will work well even if you dont have a matcha whisk and bowl and a milk frother. Cool, right?

Many recipes out there call for a matcha whisk and bowl to make this hot beverage. Fortunately, ours doesnt! I actually don’t have any of those things yet managed to make a smooth and creamy tea by simply using a small fine sieve, regular whisk, and a large cup.

The result was a tea free of clumps. I started by sieving the matcha powder, which helps eliminate most of the clumps. It works the same way as sieving cocoa powder or flour. You will notice after sieving the powder that clumpy residues of the powder remain in the sieve while the fine product/powder goes into the cup.

Then I used a regular whisk to mix a small amount of hot water with the powder. No W-motion was needed, as required by some when using a matcha whisk. A vigorous circular motion made with a regular whisk was just as effective to break up clumps and get a nice foamy top.

If your teacup has a flat bottom, that’s even better, because it will make it easier to mix all the powder in the bottom and get rid of any clumps. If not, use a good-size bowl with a flat bottom.

As you can see, it is easy-peasy and no special equipment is required. You can make an almond milk matcha latte like a pro using what you have at home!

How many of you guys are coffee drinkers?

If I had to guess, I would say somewhere around 75%. Us non-coffee drinkers are definitely the minority, right?

I get it, a strong cup of coffee can make you feel like you could carry ten baby elephants across the Sahara Desert on your back. Who wouldnt want that?

Unfortunately it doesnt work that way for me. Its so bitter that I have to dilute it with a bunch of creamer, then between the acids in the coffee and the saturated fat in the cream, my stomach turns so much that I dont know whether to pass out or puke. I much rather save those calories for muffins, thanks!

I might not be a coffee drinker but I often enjoy a nice cup of green tea . I love it because the flavor is mild and calming, yet it has enough caffeine to give me a little energy boost. And the best part is that I can drink it unsweetened, without any creamer, and enjoy it just the same. Which means I get to eat more MUFFINS, mwuahaha! )

Ahem, so I first discovered matcha almost ten years ago, when we lived back on the east coast and were visiting a small town in Connecticut. We stopped into a cute little café and as soon as I saw that beautiful bright green milkshake on the menu, I knew I had to give it a try. Ever since then Ive been hooked.
