ARMS Global, the parent company of the Kung Fu Tea chain of bubble tea shops, has leased a 35,200-square-foot industrial building in Garden City Park.
The company, which operates more than 200 bubble tea shops across the U.S. and several others in Australia, Canada and Vietnam, is relocating its warehousing and distribution operation from Woodside, Queens to the Garden City Park building at 151 Fulton Ave.
Kung Fu Tea has a location in the Broadway Commons mall in Hicksville and is planning to open shops in Williston Park and Stony Brook this year.
Bubble tea, sometimes known as boba, got its start in Taiwan in the 1980s. Most bubble tea recipes have a tea base mixed with milk or fruit and are topped off with balls of chewy tapioca.
Dan Gazzola and Chuck Tabone of Newmark Knight Frank represented the tenant, while landlord Floral Management Corp. was self-represented in the Garden City Park lease transaction.
