Foods For Vaginal Health

Tea Tree Natural Remedy – Yeast Infections, BV

Eating the right foods may help to support your overall vaginal health to prevent the onset of a bacterial vaginosis infection. One study found that the regular consumption of yogurt containing probiotics helps lower the incidence of bacterial vaginosis compared to a pasteurized control yogurt without probiotics.10 The following suggestions help ensure that you have the healthiest gut and vaginal flora.

Probiotics

As mentioned above, probiotic-rich foods can play an integral role in balancing your vaginal microflora and preventing dysbiosis. Focus primarily on foods that are rich in Lactobacilli species as they are plentiful to a natural vaginal microbiome and help to maintain healthy pH levels. Some probiotic-rich foods to keep in mind include:

  • Onions and leeks

Most prebiotic foods also happen to be high in dietary fiber, which offers a wide range of potential benefits, including improved heart health and weight management. Fiber is also known to help promote regular bowel movements, preventing both diarrhea and constipation.18 Smoother bowel movements are good for your digestive system and general health, but they also contribute to less strain to muscles in the pelvis, thereby supporting vaginal muscular health.19

Take virgin coconut oil , macerated oil , and thyme essential oil . You also need to add goldenseal herb powder , and turmeric powder . Add ten drops of each essential oil such as rose geranium, palmarosa, and tea tree to prepare the mixture.

At room temperature, virgin coconut oil is present in a solid-state. So, you need to melt the coconut oil in a double boiler and remove it from the stove. Pour calendula infused oil as well as the herbal powders to it. Stir till you find no lumps in the mixture and then mix the essential oils into this mixture. Stir it for around a minute and transfer it into vaginal suppository molds.

You need to keep the suppositories in the refrigerator for a couple of hours, and it will be ready for use. You can take it out from the molds and store it in a glass jar and keep it in a refrigerator. You need to utilize one suppository every night for around a week. As goldenseal and turmeric can leave behind yellow stains on the fabric, use the sanitary pad for catching the lipid drops, which may leak out of the vaginal cavity.

In Vitro Susceptibilities Of Lactobacilli And Organisms Associated With Bacterial Vaginosis To Melaleuca Alternifolia Oil

Tea tree oil, an essential oil from the Australian plant Melaleuca alternifolia, has broad antimicrobial activity and is incorporated into a diverse range of pharmaceutical and cosmetic products . Blackwell described a patient with typical signs and symptoms of bacterial vaginosis who treated herself with tea tree oil vaginal pessaries. After treatment, the patient was symptom free and the vaginal flora comprised predominantly gram-positive bacilli. It was suggested that the use of tea tree oil for the treatment of BV be further assessed. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the activities of tea tree oil against lactobacilli and a range of organisms associated with BV.

Reference and stored clinical isolates were obtained from the culture collections of the Western Australian Centre for Pathology and Medical Research and the Department of Microbiology at The University of Western Australia. I was desperate, and I was willing to try ANYTHING! It was uncomfortable, cold, and I made such a mess!

OK, so those natural methods I tried didnât work either.

I didnât want to go this route either…

I think you should be fine. I use tea tree oil without delute most times. You may even delute with water if you don’t feel safe using only the tea tree oil.

I did tea tree bc I had a yeast infection on top of my cycle. I thought the tea tree would help. If it smells fishy then u have a bacteria infection, if it smells musky you probably need to change tampon more often rather then every 3-4hrs. It’s normal for our cycle to have a bad scent too it though, they taught us that in health class in high school.

  • Posted 5 years ago

It didn’t smell like the usual, and generally I do not leave my tampons in longer that 4 hours.

  • Posted 5 years ago

It’s pretty normal for it to smell, it’s not normal for it too smell if ur not on ur cycle.

OH NO I made this same mistake, it was horrible an I felt like I was on fire . Water would not help either only felt worse. You definitely need an oil base it will burn like crazy if you don’t… speaking from a really really bad experience

Q: How Can I Prevent Bacterial Vaginosis From Returning

A: Because we dont know exactly what causes BV, it can be difficult to say exactly what will prevent it. However, there are a number of measures that may help:

    • Condom use: People who use condoms have a lower risk of BV. Although no one has studied whether starting to use condoms decreases recurrence, using condoms may help.
    • Hormonal birth control: People who use hormonal birth control have a lower risk of recurrent BV. Again, no one has studied whether starting these would help reduce recurrences, but we sometimes try this if hormones are a safe option for you.
    • Avoid douching: Douching can disrupt your healthy vaginal bacterial community and may increase the likelihood of BV coming back.
    • Longer-term antibiotics: If youve had three or more documented episodes of BV a year, using vaginal metronidazole twice a week for four months can decrease the chances of your BV returning.

What Are The Symptoms Of Bv

Tea Tree Therapy Vaginal Suppositories with Tea Tree Oil (Candida) REVIEW

Common symptoms of BV include a thin white or gray vaginal discharge that is sometimes accompanied by a strong fishy smell, especially after having sex or washing with soap. Itching or burning in and around the vulva can also be a sign of BV, as can itching or burning when you pee. However, it is sometimes possible for BV to have no symptoms at all.

If you’re at all concerned that you have BV, you should see your doctor ASAP. It’s also worth mentioning that the symptoms of BV can be mistaken for other conditions, including vaginitis, vaginal yeast infections, or trichomoniasis. “It’s a good idea to pay attention to what your vulva and vaginal discharge normally looks, feels, and smells like, so its easier to notice any changes that could be signs of vaginitis or other infections,” Dean says.
