Is Pink Stork Fertility Tea Suitable For Everyone

No. It is a fertility tea for women who are trying to improve their chances of becoming pregnant, thats a very niche customer base. If you are not a woman trying to get pregnant then definitely avoid this product.

Pink Stork Fertility Tea is for the most part harmless, but there is one group of women who should absolutely avoid it at all costs. Women who are already pregnant. To be fair to Pink Stork they make this pretty clear in their marketing and on the packaging. But it bears repeating.

Ladys Mantle should not be taken by pregnant women as there are some reports that it can cause a miscarriage by triggering vaginal bleeding. Passionflower may also be dangerous as it could potentially cause the uterus to contract . Vitex agnus-castus is also not recommended to be taken while pregnant as it may cause complications.

Can Fertility Teas Actually Help You Get Pregnant Here’s What The Science Says

Pink Stork Fertility Sweets: Strawberry Pomegranate ...

Before we get into the findings we have around fertility teas, there are a few important limitations to the research:

  • Fertility teas as proprietary tea blends dont have much research behind them but theres a wider body of literature behind the individual ingredients present in some of them .
  • Research in this area is also complicated by the exact words used. “The term fertility teas encompass a broad swath of herbs that originate from many cultures and can be administered in a variety of ways,” including blended herbal teas sold online or in stores that are often low in dose and quality, explains Dr. Hullender Rubin.
  • Dr. Rubin adds that herbal medicine in general is uniquely difficult to study because of rapid changes in its practice, no clear proof in what method of administration has the highest efficacy, the need for standardization in herb potency and testing, and the overall complexities in mapping symptom patterns to specific herbal treatments.

Despite all of these limitations, research in this area is growing. Below, weve broken down the key ingredients included in the most popular fertility teas and examined the research we do have around their potential impact on fertility. We’ll start with the ingredients that have the most evidence for their fertility-boosting claims , and end with the ones that have the least.

The Scoop On Fertility Tea: Does It Really Work

Teas that claim to support fertility are popular in wellness circles and can be found all over the internet. But before you skim through all of those customer reviews and hit checkout on those tea sachets, do they actually work? What do we know from the research?

While there are anecdotal accounts that the ingredients in popular fertility teas affect the fertility of both people with ovaries and people with sperm, there’s limited clinical evidence of their effectiveness in this respect though many of the ingredients may have other health benefits . The one ingredient with the most evidence to support its fertility-boosting claims is chasteberry .

Evidence aside, some of the herbs found in fertility teas aren’t safe during pregnancy and may interact with other medications or supplements and the dosage and quality of the herbs used might not be high enough to actually have a positive effect. That’s why talking to your healthcare provider about any herb use is so important, and why herbalists recommend consulting with a trained herbalist rather than buying fertility teas online.

How Exactly Do They Help Fertility

Any woman who has tried to conceive for a while without success probably wishes there was a magic bullet. Imagine simply having to pop a pill and getting pregnant within a month! However, thats an unrealistic expectation when it comes to fertility supplements.

While they do contain the ideal ingredients for optimal health and will prepare your body for pregnancy, they cant cure infertility.

Until now, there havent been many studies on fertility supplements. That said, those already researched, appear to give a slight advantage on the road to conceiving .

Its not easy to say exactly what fertility supplements do, besides promoting fertility. It depends on which ingredients they contain, what youre lacking, and the issue you might be facing. But most set out to regulate two main hormones, progesterone and estrogen ultimately regulating the menstrual cycle.

Many women with irregular cycles, as well as those with polycystic ovary syndrome , may find supplements especially helpful. The ingredients help to balance out the hormonal disturbances preventing them from completing a successful pregnancy.

Of course, always pair supplements with a healthy diet and lifestyle. This will not only help you conceive but also optimize your health during pregnancy and lessen your chances of complications.

Black Cohosh Could Also Have A Positive Effect On Fertility

Black cohosh , which has historically been used to ease menopause and premenstrual syndrome symptoms, as well as inducing labor, and may have some effect on fertility.

One 2021 systematic review found that black cohosh improved hormone regulation and endometrial thickness when compared to clomiphene citrate in patients managing infertility with PCOS, with three randomized controlled trials finding higher pregnancy rates for people using black cohosh in addition to clomiphene citrate. The researchers noted, though, that there were concerns of bias in several of the included studies. These same effects were not demonstrated by high-quality clinical evidence for people with PCOS.

The 39 products that CSPI investigated, however, do make specific, fertility-related claims, such as that they are formulated for women to get pregnant, boost your chances of conception, and improve your pregnancy chances. When CSPI asked the manufacturers for evidence backing such claims, four cited customer reviews as scientific evidence, seven cited studies that either did not measure rates of pregnancy or found no increase, and most of the rest did not respond.

Others seemed confused about the evidence they cited. On its website, Fairhaven Health, which sells FertilAid and seven other fertility supplements, touts a clinical trial in which 12 of 16 previously infertile women conceived after taking PABA, a compound in folic acid. But the trial, published in 1942, in fact studied PABA taken by men, not women.

In another exchange, a representative of the manufacturer of Premama Fertility Support replied to CSPIs request for supportive scientific studies by acknowledging, I think youll be hard pressed to find any supplement company that can definitively say that their product increases the chances of becoming pregnant. If you do, Id be very curious to see.

Long-time critics of the fertility industry welcomed CSPIs investigation.

Tea will not make you conceive, but it might taste good!

I know it won’t make me conceive but it’s suppose to help regulate and increase ovulation.

I dont think that natural remedies should be completely discounted as woo. After all where do you think a lot of medication comes from? Digitalis, for example, is where they got the heart medicine Digoxin. Aspirin was originally made from willow tree bark. Penicillin was discovered as a mold that grows on bread but people had been using bread poultices for infected wounds for centuries before that. In ancient times women used to drink a tea made from Silphium since it was a well known contraception and abortifacient and it was so widely used among so many cultures that it was actually consumed into extinction.

OP drink your tea if you want. I tried a red raspberry leaf tea but didnt like it because it gave me acne. You do you!

Ive drank it! It tastes pretty good, no success yet . It seems to have helped keep my cycle regular bouncing back from birth control. I like it since its soothing and has the red raspberry leaf as well as the other herbs that Ive heard help with your cycle. I had a cup of it from day one until ovulation. Gives me at least some peace of mind Im doing something to help, and it helps me relax at nice.

What Are Fertility Teas Exactly

Pink Stork Fertility Tea & Gummy Comparison-Which One Works The Best?

Some nutritionists with a special interest in fertility, holistic practitioners, and midwives are proponents of herbal fertility teas for boosting chances of conception. These herbs, when steeped in hot water, are thought to release fertility-aiding or enhancing compounds: from boosting libido to “toning” the uterus to “balancing” hormone levels. Many of the ingredients in these fertility teas are also touted for their richness in essential minerals and nutrients.

Medical literature has documented the use of herbal remedies , called “uterine tonics,” to treat a wide variety of gynecological issues with reports from as early as the 15th century. Colonial scientists and healthcare providers first borrowed the idea of botany for reproductive health from Indigenous American medicinal culture, where herbs like blue cohosh were taken to treat menstrual cramps, relieve pain during childbirth, and sometimes induce labor. This practice continued in the lead up to the 20th century as people with ovaries turned to midwives and medicinal plants for their reproductive health.
